Ha, Young-Sun, a scholar of international relations, explained that Korea’s diplomacy faces three big problems: “A combination of deepening the Korea-US-Japan network and broadening the Korea-China network”, “the North Korean nuclear crisis”, and the “construction of an Asia-Pacific complex network order”. In order for South Korea to engage in the complex and multilayered international relations paradigm of the 21st century, he stressed that South Korea must take a future-oriented stance that ensures both its own security and that of the global order. He also argued that actors in the new Asia-Pacific order should construct “net-like” international networks connecting diverse interests, since economy, security, culture, and knowledge arise in diverse shape complexly.
