On Friday, December 27, the East Asia Institute (EAI) hosted a roundtable discussion with members of the National Assembly from both ruling and opposition parties to examine the implications of the Trump administration’s second-term policy toward the Korean Peninsula. EAI experts and lawmakers underscored the critical need for cross-partisan collaboration within the National Assembly to navigate the geopolitical challenges South Korea is expected to face starting in 2025, particularly in the context of its ongoing leadership crisis. The participants advocated for the development of a comprehensive strategy to enhance international cooperation in the economic and advanced technology sectors, aimed at fostering stability in Northeast Asia.
