Korea’s Vision for Unification and the Future of East Asia
A myriad of issues continue to complicate the role of Korean unification within the setting of East Asia peace and security. On Monday June 9, EAI in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) held a joint international conference at the Westin Chosun hotel in Seoul, bringing together policy experts and scholars from around the world. The participants discussed complex areas such as possible paths for unification, and what space a unified Korea would occupy in the wider region. Many perspectives represented by U.S. Chinese, Japanese, German and Russian presenters added a range of learned voices to the future of an increasingly strategically significant region.
