2019 Summer Internship
Valentina Popova, Yonsei Graduate School of International Studies

My internship at EAI started right before a big for organization event, called KF Korea Workshop. It was my first time working not with but for a Korean organization, so the learning process for me started right away and was very informative. I was lucky to participate not only in KF Korea Workshop but also in other different kinds of events EAI hosted this summer, tried my best in helping EAI researchers if they had any requests or tasks, learnt how to work in international team. All these gave me an idea of how research tank operates in Korea and whether a research tank similar organization is exactly the place where I want to work afterwards. Dreaming of becoming a researcher in the future, EAI showed me that if you are seeking not only for academic but also for professional growth, research tank could be just the best option for you to start a researcher’s career. Now I have a better idea of my skills, my abilities, my desires and my goals. However, having said all that, I want to add that more than anything else in career and life experiences I have always valued people and network I can establish. EAI became a place for me where I could meet not only good and nice people but also find good friends. They say the working environment is a huge part of your proficient work and future success. Researchers and managers at EAI are professionals who know exactly what and how it should be done professionally and efficiently. I appreciate researchers for spending these two months with us, teaching us, helping us out.
