Asia-Pacific Public Poll on International Issues

What do people in different countries think about the issues that are facing the world today? EAI partners with other research institutes to conduct an annual cross-national public opinion survey in the Asia Pacific region. The survey asks regarding perceptions and attitudes on traditional security topics such as military preparedness, nuclear weapons, and terrorism, and also covers human rights and migration, climate change, and other emerging issues. There are six participating institutes in this survey, including EAI, the Chicago Council on Global Affairs (U.S.), the Lowy Institute (Australia), the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada, Dataway Horizon (China), and the Genron NPO (Japan). The results of the survey are analyzed to confirm convergence and divergence in the public opinion of each country and serve as a reference guide for the pursuit of global peace and better governance.
