East Asia Institute (EAI) strives to establish an "intellectual-hub" for developing policies toward North Korea and peninsular affairs, including those addressing North Korea's nuclear weapons program. To do so, EAI is strengthening the research on reunification and North Korea as an alternative to Western-led research on North Korea and to promote a more balanced perspective on the subject. In 2018, EAI launched "Global North Korea," a comprehensive archival website collecting publications on North Korea related issues. EAI publishes "Global NK Commentary" and "Issue Briefing" on key issues surrounding North Korea and is dedicated to providing primary data and research on North Korea.
