The Obama administration's new security guideline and the U.S. budget issues lend several implications to the security in East Asia. Amid dark clouds in East Asia the voice for common security will gain more support. The European initiative led to the establishment of the Conference on Security and Co-operation in Europe (CSCE) and was helpful in dealing with the crisis. The future is up to East Asian countries.
