EAI Increasingly a Go-To Think Tank in a World of Globalizing Knowledge

  • 2015-02-03
The EAI is pleased to announce that it has placed 60th worldwide on the “Global Go To Think Tank Index” compiled by the “Think Tanks and Civil Society Program (TTCSP)” at the University of Pennsylvania in the U.S., marking a rise of 5 places from last year’s rankings. The EAI is the only non-profit independent institute in Korea to be ranked in the Top Think Tanks Worldwide (U.S. and Non-U.S.) category. This is the third consecutive year that the EAI has made the list of the world’s most influential think tanks.

EAI was ranked as a leading think tank across eight different areas. Except for the Korea Development Institute (KDI), which was ranked in twelve areas, the EAI was the most ranked and celebrated institute in Korea. In three areas, including Best Transdisciplinary Research Program, Best Use of Social Networks, and Think Tanks with Outstanding Policy-Oriented Public Programs, the EAI was the only think tank from Korea to be ranked in these categories.

The TTCSP “Global Go To Think Tank Index” is respected internationally as a measure of the value that institutions add to the accumulation of global knowledge and their contribution to the development of potential solutions to global problems. The index is a result of an international survey that covers over 6,618 think tanks around the world. As the only non-profit independent institute in Korea to be consistently ranked as a high performer in the think tank field, the EAI takes immense pride in its ability to contribute meaningful and timely information on issues that affect East Asia and the wider region as a whole.
