[Issue Briefing] Tasks ahead beyond the North Korea-U.S. Summit
"North Korea`s Complete Denuclearization: Reality or Fiction?"
In this article, EAI Chairman Young Sun Ha (Professor Emeritus, Seoul National University) and Chaesung Chun, Chair of the EAI Center for International Relations Studies and professor at Seoul National University conduct a joint analysis of the outcome of the June 12 US-DPRK Summit. With a particular focus on CVID, the authors discuss the potential paths forward for North Korea. They explore the current environment and look at how CVID might be achieved either in tandem with or after North Korea’s economic reform and opening and ways that US-DPRK and inter-Korean relations may impact the process.
