동아시아연구원(EAI)은 2014-2015년 EAI 펠로우즈 프로그램(Fellows Program on Peace, Governance, and Development in East Asia)의 선정 결과를 발표합니다. 본 프로그램은 대만의 장경국재단(Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation), 한국의 YBM/KIS의 후원으로 운영되며, 비 아시아권 학자들의 동아시아 연구를 활성화하고 지식 교류를 촉진하기 위해 노력해 왔습니다.
금년에는 지원자격을 전세계로 확대함에 따라 세계 각지의 유망한 아시아 전문가들이 지원하였으며, 5개 참여 기관의 대표와 JEAS 편집장으로 구성된 EAI 펠로우즈 프로그램 선정위원회에서 지원자들의 연구제안서, 업적, 추천서 등을 면밀하게 검토하여 최종 5명의 펠로우를 선정하였습니다. 2014-2015년 프로그램에 새롭게 선정된 EAI 펠로우는 다음과 같습니다.
Allen Carlson, Associate Professor, Cornell University
주제 : “Creating China: Transnational Public Intellectuals and the Making of Contemporary Chinese Politics and Foreign Relations”
Rosemary Foot, Professor, University of Oxford
주제 : “East Asian Perceptions of the Obama Administration’s “Rebalance” Towards Asia”
Alex Dukalskis, Lecturer, University College Dublin
주제 : “East Asia and the International Criminal Court: Understanding Causes of Norm Disposition”
Seung-youn Oh, Assistant Professor, Bryn Mawr College
주제 : “China’s Race to the Top: Upgrading the Industrial Structure and Advancing the FDI Lifecycle in Coastal Provinces”
Yongwook Ryu, Assistant Professor, The Australian National University
주제 : “Does the ‘History Problem’ Matter? Issue Salience, National Identity, and Regional Conflict in Northeast Asia”
선정된 펠로우들은 2주 이상의 기간 동안 동아시아의 5개 참여 기관 중 두 곳 이상을 방문하여 세미나와 강연회에 참석하고 각자의 연구 주제를 발표하게 됩니다. 펠로우들이 방문하게 될 참여 기관은, 서울의 동아시아연구원, 베이징 북경대학교, 상하이 푸단대학교, 동경 게이오대학교, 타이페이 국립대만대학교입니다.
