The Implementation of UNCAC in PakistanPakistan Institute for Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) conducted the 10th video interview that is part of the ADRN project “Sharing Our Practices for Better Governance.” PILDAT interviews Zahir Shah, the director general of National Accountability Bureau, anti-corruption agency of the Government of Pakistan. By explaining the role of United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), Zahir Shah emphasizes how complying with the UNCAC has contributed to the anti-corruption efforts in his country. The UNCAC improves international cooperation in fighting against corruption and countries can learn from each other’s experiences through the UNCAC. He argues that the UNCAC helped Pakistan to implement better anti-corruption strategy by monitoring the outcome of the implementation process and providing specific guidelines. Lastly, he points out the important role of civil society in preventing corruption.
