East Asia Institute organized and hosted the Asia Democracy Research Network (ADRN) Second Workshop in Seoul on November 11, 2015. During the workshop, ADRN representatives discussed specific action plans to strengthen the network, identity and mission of the ADRN, membership, and future research projects for the year 2016.

ADRN was launched in 2013 under the EAI’s leadership in order to analyze challenges against democracy in Asia and collaborate on pragmatic research projects that can contribute to democracy promotion and consolidation in the region. Democracy-related research think tanks from ten Asian countries, including South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Mongolia, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, and Malaysia, are currently participating in this network. EAI is serving as a secretariat of the ADRN.
