Symposium on Northeast Asian Security (SNEAS) 2011 was held in Seoul, Korea from September 26-27, on the theme of “Denuclearization and Security Stability in the Asia-Pacific Region.” SNEAS is a US Department of State and US Pacific Command sponsored event with support from the EAI, US Embassy Seoul, and Korea University Graduate School of Policy Studies & Korea University Institute for Sustainable Development.

SNEAS is designed to be an informal, off-the-record forum to discuss security and economic challenges and promote regional cooperation in Northeast Asia. SNEAS focuses on emerging regional security issues, the U.S. role in regional security, the possibilities and consequences of change on the Korean Peninsula, and China's emerging role in the region.
