The Northeast Asia Security Dialogue (NASD) was held in Beijing on November 21-22, 2010. The NASD is co-sponsored by the East Asia Institute (EAI) and the Center for International and Security Studies (CISS) of Peking University (國際戰略硏究中心) to promote the mutual understanding of two countries’ policy direction related to Northeast Asian Security. This was the third NASD since the first in Beijing in 2008 and the second in Seoul in 2009.

The two-track forum that consists of the Experts Panel and the Students Forum is believed to educate the potential leaders of the next generation and create a network between Korean and Chinese experts. Articles presented in the Students Forum are to be published online at the EAI website.

In the Experts Panel on November 21, 2010, the twelve experts – 7 Korean and 5 Chinese - discussed on the two issues: 1) “Post-Cheonan Korean Peninsula: Power Succession, Peace, and Denuclearization in North Korea” and 2) “New Security Dynamics in East Asia and Global Governance.”
