EAI`s project planned the interview series "Revisiting Burma," that listen to the stories of civil society activists in South Korea who have supported Myanmar`s Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) for the past year. In reflecting on the 8888 Myanmar Democratic Uprising, Khin May Htar, a representative of the Suwon Immigration Center, stated that it is critical for Myanmar`s people to unify for military resistance and democratization not just within Myanmar but also within the international community. Khin May Htar expressed hope that Myanmar can gradually shake off its Buddhist nation`s conservative legacy and provide more opportunities for future generations to participate in society, noting that young women`s performance has been particularly prominent during the long struggle against the military.
