[JEAS] Volume 17, Issue 3
"The New Issue Has Arrived!"

The third issue of Vol. 17 of EAI’s English-language academic journal, the Journal of East Asian Studies, has arrived. In this volume, Woo Chang Kang and Ji Yeon Hong examine the extent to which wartime violence against civilians during the Korean War affects current attitudes toward South Korea and other involved countries. Eve Warburton explores resource nationalism in Indonesia and Garner et al. discuss a case of vote-buying in Indonesian elections. Liu et al. investigate the effects of political ties on firm performance in China, and Tuman et al. study Japan’s foreign aid program. In addition, this volume contains book reviews of publications dealing with issues such as Chinese relations with the West prior to the Cold War (Chinese Law in Imperial Eyes), the post-Cold War management of China’s economy, modern geology and nationalism in China, and meritocracy and inequality in China. pc   mobile
