The East Asia Institute (President Yul Sohn) and MBN jointly held <MBN-EAI Diplomacy Strategy Symposium: US-China Strategic Competition and South Korea's Middle Power Diplomacy> on October 29 (Thursday) at Glad Hotel, Yeouido. The Symposium covered three sessions including 1) US-China Security Competition and South Korea's Strategy, 2) US-China Trade and Technology Competition and South Korea's Strategy, and 3) Empowering Middle Powers through Cooperative Networks. Panelists discussed the direction Korea should take amid intensifying strategic competition between the US and China and how to further cooperation among middle power countries.
This symposium was held in a hybrid format with both an online audience and on-site attendees who signed up in advance to participate in the seminar. For the third session, panelists from Australia, Germany, and Indonesia were connected through Zoom.
